USABILITY TOOLS
Usability solutions are designed to extend the capabilities of SharePoint to provide a more robust
experience to SharePoint users. The usability solutions available through DataLan include:
DataLan Navigator: Provides a consolidated hierarchy of all areas and sites
users have access to. The hierarchy is presented as a tree that site users can navigate

DataLan Page Tabs: Allows pages saved in team sites to be organized into a tab
structure similar to the way they appear within meeting workspaces. Site managers can
identify the document library containing the pages and specify an order that the tabs should

DataLan Breadcrumbs: Provides a full breadcrumb hierarchy that includes all sites
and areas. This web part will present all available paths to the current location when a

DataLan ListPrinter: Connects to any displayed list in SharePoint and allows for
the presented list view to be printed without the print out including any other SharePoint

DataLan MyTasks: Displays all active tasks across all task lists within the
SharePoint environment for the current user. For more information, contact

DataLan Grouped Subsites: Allows subsites under a Windows SharePoint Services
site to be presented in a grouped list based in information contained within the subsite.

DataLan QuickLaunch: Displays libraries and lists that have been configured for
display in the Quick Launch pane. This web part enables Quick Launch items to be made available
anywhere within the SharePoint page and allows the manager of the site to configure how these

DataLan People Search: Allows your portal to leverage the user profile information
by providing the ability to perform searches for user information. You enter any part of the
user’s name and the profile information will be searched to find people matching the search and
returning general details about that person, including telephone, email, and department. For

Syntergy Cut/Copy/Paste: Provides document cut, copy, and paste capabilities within the standard views of SharePoint libraries.
Cut/Copy/Paste integrates into the SharePoint document management interface and perserves version history owner and creation date information,

Syntergy LiveMail: Allows for SharePoint environments to be extended to better leverage e-mail. Documents can be sent to
others via e-mail, documents can be checked out and in via e-mail, and information originating in e-mail can be automatically

MANAGEMENT RESOURCES
Management resources are designed to help SharePoint environment and site administrators by providing
enhanced or extended solution management capabilities. SharePoint management solutions available

DataLan Document Restorer: Allows for the retention of deleted documents from where they
can be easily restored. This utility can also be used to restore documents directly from the
SharePoint document storage database. This allows for the restore of documents to occur without

DataLan Security Viewer: Allows administrators to generate an HTML report detailing the security
rights make-up of all SharePoint sites within the portal environment. This report includes rights

Syntergy Audit: Provides enhanced auditing for documents stored in portal and site libraries. All types of document
