Situation
The customer defined a new product development process to replace their manual, meeting-based process. This new phase-gated process encompassed product development from concept to launch. To ensure a successful launch of the new process, they needed a tool to enable team management, task management, quality deliverables, schedule management, and gate reviews. They needed to include a broad range of stakeholders in the process including demand planning, design, development, finance and administration, logistics, marketing, merchandising, sales, and supply. Visibility was required at a variety of levels to support the process, such as by category, by functional area, and for the individual stakeholders.
Solution
