DataLan Corporation Announces SharePoint-based Solutions for the Insurance Industry

White Plains, NY — 3/30/2009 — DataLan Corporation, Inc. today announced that they will go to market with solutions for the Insurance industry using Microsoft Office tools and leveraging SharePoint technology.

“Insurance companies want to improve the speed and efficiency of the business development and underwriting process, but struggle to make these improvements because of the complexity of communication between carriers and brokers, the copious amount of documentation that must be collected and managed during the process, and manual nature of that process.  Current software solutions include expensive Enterprise Document Management (ECM) software requiring extensive (and costly) customization and integration and equally expensive custom application projects.  Companies that have made these investments rarely get the payoff as employees and partners are unable (or unwilling) to learn how to properly use these systems.” Said Dave Wallen, DataLan’s Director of Business Development, “DataLan’s Insurance solutions leveraging platform Microsoft technology – the Office desktop tools and Windows servers companies already own –provide companies with capabilities traditionally found in very expensive software applications for considerably less in terms of initial investment and recurring costs. In addition to the hard economic impact our solutions provide, by integrating capabilities into the Microsoft Office tools workers already use and web pages that look and feel like corporate web sites we can improve employee and partner adoption and reduce the costs of change management and training.”
